Digital ServerWORKS MANAGER NOW SUPPORTS COMPAQ INSIGHT MANAGER AND WEB-BASED MANAGEMENT

If you are currently managing Compaq servers with Compaq Insight Manager, and you are adding a Digital server to your environment.

  1. Install the Compaq Management Agents for Digital servers using the ServerWORKS Management CD.
  2. Continue to Use Compaq Insight Manager* to manage the new Digital server.

*Requires Compaq Insight Manager 4.0 and higher. The latest version of Compaq Insight Manager can be downloaded from

If you are currently managing Digital Servers with ServerWORKS Manager, and you are adding a new Compaq server to your environment, choose one of the following options:

Option I - Integrate ServerWORKS Manager console/Insight Manager console.

A more robust management of the Compaq server will be available using this option. By installing ServerWORKS Manager and Compaq Insight Manager on the same Console, you will be provided one of our new features of launching Insight Manager from ServerWORKS Manager to manage your Compaq server.

  1. Install Compaq Server Management Agents on your Compaq server
    You can install the Management Agents in one of two ways:
    • Automatic installation using the Compaq SmartStart CD
    • Manual installation using the Compaq Management CD
  2. Install Compaq Insight Manager
    You install Compaq Insight Manager on the Management console from the Compaq Management CD.
    Refer to the online documentation available on the Compaq Management CD in [CD Drive:]\OVERVIEW.EXE and select the Overview button.
  3. Install ServerWORKS Manager
    It is suggested that you download the latest version of ServerWORKS Manager from:
    ServerWORKS Manager V4.2
    Username: [Server serial#]
    Password: 4qyaasa

    This will allow you to take advantage of the new features and functions of ServerWORKS which includes WBEM and the integration and launching of Compaq Insight Manager.
  4. Select the Insight Manager Integration Option
  5. Select all the Default choices

Option II - Use the ServerWORKS management console to manage your Compaq server.

  1. Install the Compaq Management Agents for Digital servers using the Compaq Management CD, install these from the Digital Agents directory.
  2. Install ServerWORKS Manager. You can continue to use your current ServerWORKS Manager Console.
