| Overview |
| The Compaq DLT Tape
Array III is a tape backup solution that houses up to four DLT or SDLT tape drives in a 5U
rack mount enclosure. The DLT Tape Array III replaces the DLT Tape Array II, while
providing customers with a backup solution that accommodates both SE and LVD tape devices. DLT
Tape Array III Customer benefits include:
- Supports Compaq’s industry leading 20/40-GB DLT, 40/80-GB DLT, & SDLT
110/220-GB tape drives
- Provides up to 880-GB of Data Protection storage capacity in a 5U rack-dense space
- Supports both DLT & SDLT tape drives in the same enclosure, providing customers with
Investment Protection and an easy transition to new SDLT drive technologies
- Thoroughly tested and qualified with Compaq servers and industry leading software,
resulting in fewer defects and problems

- Mod-4 SDLT – includes 5U rack mount storage enclosure configured with (4) SDLT
110/220 tape drives
- Mod-4 DLT – includes 5U rack mount storage enclosure configured with (4) DLT 40/80
tape drives

with (4) DLT 40/80 or SDLT 110/220 tape drives installed. The Tape Array III can also
support previously released DLT tape drives including both the 20/40-GB & 35/70-GB
