| Overview |
|
| The NVIDIA Quadro2 Pro graphics controller is
a high-performance graphics solution for Professional 3D users who require the best
balance of price and performance in the mid-range professional graphics space. Based on
the next-generation chip technology, the Quadro2 Pro Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) with
the NVIDIA unified driver (UDA) gives graphics professionals a complete solution for both
development and deployment of leading-edge content. The Quadro2 Pro features include: AGP
2X/4X support, 64-MB Double Data Rate (DDR), and 256-bit memory bus. The Quadro2 Pro is
targeted at CAD, CAM, DCC, GIS, solid modeling, and visual data analysis applications. |
|
| Performance |
| The Quadro2 Pro uses the fastest available
memory (DDR) with a unified frame buffer to support high-resolution, true-color displays
and full screen antialiasing. With industry-leading application software support and
cutting edge pixel, transform, lighting and shading engines, Quadro2 Pro achieves
real-time rendering and unparalleled visual quality. Combined with OpenGL ICD and software
extensions like ELSA POWERdraft, ELSA MAXtreme, and NVIDIA QuadroView, the Quadro2 Pro
provides the most powerful overall 3D solution available in the 3D mid-range space. |

| Key Benefits |
The NVIDIA Quadro2 Pro is an excellent solution for
workstation professionals running CAD, CAM, DCC, GIS, solid modeling and visualization
applications. With a 64-MB unified frame buffer, the Quadro2 Pro is capable of supporting
1920 x 1200 in 24-bit double buffered mode with a 24-bit Z-buffer, in conjunction with
stencil planes, overlay planes, alpha planes and hardware texturing, resulting in
remarkable realism and image clarity.
Through NVIDIAs UDA, all Quadro2 family products have
a backward and forward binary driver that is compatible with past, present, and future
NVIDIA platforms, allowing for increased compatibility and manageability.
The Quadro2 Pro offers a rich OpenGL implementation that
has been optimized and certified for numerous workstation applications. In addition, the
Quadro2 family line of products offers proprietary application tools that allow
workstation professionals to dramatically increase their productivity:
- ELSA POWERdraft , a high speed display list for AutoCAD
R13/R14 and AutoCAD 2000 and AutoCAD 2000i increases performance and productivity
through the use of the navigation interface.
- ELSA MAXtreme, an optimized driver for Discreet MAX users.
- NVIDIA QuadroView, a fast 3D viewer/renderer for real time
editing and viewing 3D CAD models without the burden of running the full application.
The combination of the Quadro2 Pro processor (GPU), unified
driver architecture (UDA) and enhanced software extensions, provides the perfect solution
for CAD applications, such as PTC Pro/ENGINEER, EDS Unigraphics as well as DCC
applications such as Discreet 3D Studio MAX, and Softimage 3D. Compaq has a solid
reputation for delivering high-quality, reliable enhancement products.
Compaq enhancement products are designed and
tested to demanding specifications, including rigorous qualification requirements for
suppliers, stringent performance specifications, and a thorough testing process to ensure
consistent quality from prototype to production. |
