Product Highlights
Flexible Tape Support
The 3U Rackmount Kit supports both Single-Ended and LVD SCSI tape drives, in the same enclosure, including DAT, AIT, DLT, SDLT, and LTO.

NOTE: Customers must use internal tape devices qualified for ProLiant™ and AlphaServer™ platforms only. Please refer to section entitled "Step 2- Additional/Related Options". For internal tape devices qualified on HP NetServer and other HP platforms, please refer to the HP website for information on the StorageWorks Tape Array 5300 and 5500.

Performance
The maximum native data transfer rate is 60MB/s or 108GB/hour with two LTO Ultrium 230 tape drives installed. With 2:1 compression, the maximum data transfer rate can reach up to 216GB/hour.
Dual Bus Configuration
The standard bus configuration includes 2 SCSI buses with support for up to 2 drives per bus. Customers can purchase an LVD Cable Kit that will extend the unit to 4 SCSI buses supporting 1 drive per bus and allowing for faster data transfer.
NOTE: Using the LVD cable kit to create a configuration of 4 separate SCSI requires the use of half-height (DAT and AIT) internal tape drives. When using full-height (DLT, SDLT, & LTO) internal tape devices, a maximum of two separate internal SCSI buses is allowed.
Servers Supported
The 3U Rackmount Kit supports HP’s complete line of ProLiant™ and AlphaServer™ platforms.
The 5U Rackmount Kit is a high-density rackmount enclosure that houses up to four DLT,SDLT, and/or LTO Ultrium tape drives in a 5U rack mount enclosure. The 5U Rackmount Kit is compatible with HP’s line of DLT, SDLT, LTO Ultrium tape drives for ProLiant™ and AlphaServer platforms

5U Rackmount Kit Customer benefits include:

  • Supports HP’s industry leading 20/40-GB DLT, 40/80-GB DLT, SDLT 110/220-GB, LTO Ultrium 230 tape drives
  • Supports both DLT, SDLT, and LTO tape drives in the same enclosure, providing customers with Investment Protection and an easy transition to new SuperDrive tape technologies
Tape Drives Supported
The 5U Rackmount Kit can support up to (4) full-height tape drives and is compatible with all HP DLT/SDLT tape drives including the 20/40-GB DLT, 35/70-GB DLT, 40/80-GB DLT, and the SDLT 110/220-GB tape drive, as well as the Ultrium 230 GB tape drive for ProLiant servers

NOTE: Customers must use internal tape devices qualified for ProLiant™ and AlphaServer™ platforms only. Please refer to section entitled "Step 2- Additional/Related Options". For internal tape devices qualified on HP NetServer and other HP platforms, please refer to the HP website for information on the StorageWorks Tape Array 5300 and 5500
