Product Highlights

Advanced Intelligent Tape (AIT) TechnologyAIT drive employs a helical scan recording style in which data tracks are written at an angle relative to the edge of the tape. This provides higher density recording, enabling HP customers to lower costs and increase efficiency by storing more data on a single tape.

Memory-In-Cassette (MIC)AIT technology features Memory-In-Cassette (MIC) a 64-Kb memory chip built into the data cartridge which speeds access to your data. The MIC chip provides sophisticated data access capability that allows users to load and unload the tape at the mid-point, which helps in locating files in seconds.

ManageabilitySupported through HP Insight Manager, alerting the administrator when tape status changes or when rewrite/reread thresholds are exceeded.

Mix and Match CapabilitiesHot plug tape was designed with reduced cost of ownership in mind. Now there is no need to purchase a separate controller just for your tape drive. The hot plug capabilities give our customers the ability to mix tape drives and hard drives on the same SCSI bus.

CompressionBuilt-in Advanced Lossless Data Compression (ALDC) hardware compression.

Compatibility and Integration TestingHP's AIT 35 GB tape drives are fully supported and compatible with HP ProLiant ML310, ProLiant ML330 G2, ProLiant ML330 G3, and the ProLiant ML330e (discontinued).
