    • Operating system and selected programs are protected from common buffer overflow, printf, and race condition file vulnerabilities. When an immunized program senses a known or more importantly an unknown threat it instantly deploys to stop the attack.
    • Immunix sub-domain architecture restricts the ports, processes and IP addresses a profiled application may access. Even if an application is attacked and compromised Immunix prevents the program from being used to gain access to other programs or other areas of the system, server, or network

The InterScan/Immunix Secured Solution for hp ProLiant Server is a complete gateway antivirus solution in a QuickStart CD format. When placed in the CD tray of a ProLiant DL series server, the CD installs the Immunix secured Linux operating system, Secure Server Manager user interface, and Trend Micro's InterScan VirusWall.


Description
This solution is an innovative approach to delivering easy to install and manage application specific solutions. It is based on the combination of an hp ProLiant DL series servers, Immunix security technology and market leading application. The Immunix secured Linux operating system and application are shipped on CD ready to be installed on the ProLiant servers. Since the hardware, operating system and application are designed to work together, the contents of the CD simply installs onto the ProLiant eliminating the need for any Linux installation configuration.

WireX Immunix is what makes the solution secure. It protects the Linux operating system from common class vulnerabilities and delivers sub-domain protection from attacks that may leverage vulnerabilities to gain access to the operating system or other services and servers. The web-based Secure Server Manager facilitates the installation of the operating system and InterScan VirusWall in a single easy step. Secure Server Manager web interface shields users from all Linux commands. All installation and management functions are performed from a browser in a secure SSL session.

Trend Micro's InterScan VirusWall detects and removes viruses from inbound and outbound SMTP, FTP, and HTTP traffic in real time. Offering automatic, scheduled, or one-button virus pattern file and scan engine updates through centralized management, InterScan VirusWall allows administrators to have full control of every aspect of virus protection, anytime, anywhere. InterScan VirusWall is compatible with Check Point, Cisco, and other popular firewalls as well as best-of-breed security products

Immunix Secure Server Manager (web-based Linux systems manager)
Allows the Solutions Server to be securely and remotely managed from a browser. The systems administrator does not need to know any Linux commands.

InterScan VirusWall
  • Detects and removes viruses in real time from smtp, ftp, and http traffic at the gateway

Immunix security for Linux
  • Sub-domain architecture - restricts vulnerabilities and prevents them from being used to gain access to other service, ports, applications, or servers
  • Buffer overflow protection - Immunix compiled programs are protected from this common vulnerability that is created when data strings that are longer than anticipated are written to memory and executed by the server
  • Print format vulnerability protection - stops vulnerabilities in the C language print format statement that allows executable arguments to be inserted by the user and executed by the application
  • Race condition file vulnerability protection - stops the substitution of executable commands in temporary files that if executed could open the server to penetration
