Overview

HP Integrated Archive Platform 2.0

HP designed and factory integrated software and hardware archiving platform; includes the native components necessary for comprehensive enterprise archiving; scalability from day-one from the small enterprise to the large global enterprise; accessible and discoverable to meet the most demanding user and litigation needs; and retention management to ensure preservation and disposition of information to enable best practices for legal, compliance, and governance requirements to mitigate risks and reduce costs, all with a single point of contact for global support with HP.

Scalability and Performance. The HP Integrated Archive Platform (HP IAP) is a highly scalable, integrated content archiving storage platform for information management (IM). Developed for the small to large global enterprise and remote branch office deployments, the HP IAP is the foundation for rapidly evolving compliance and archiving strategies. The unique IAP grid storage architecture enables a flexible, multi-dimensional scaling capability which can be configured with a wide range of performance and capacity upgrade options to meet the most demanding SLAs and enterprise environments. Intelligently distributing hundreds of terabytes of content and billions of objects across a grid of smart storage cells or Smartcells, managing the explosive growth in information is now possible by consolidating and centralizing 'silos' of information through-out the enterprise, without loss in performance.

Accessible and discoverable. Comprehensive integrated search capabilities that leverage the IAP's unique distributed indexing and grid architecture technologies, ensures fast access to consolidated and centralized multi-content information silos such as email, files, SharePoint, structured data, print stream, document capture and other content types for 100s of thousands of users across 100s of terabytes, and billions of objects. Providing unprecedented access to information can significantly reduce litigation costs and meet the timely response to the growing number of simultaneous litigation and e-Discovery requests.

Retention management. Preservation of information through flexible retention policies to ensure proper disposition of data at the end of its retention period whether it's to meet compliance, legal hold, or governance requirements. Every object is archived with its own unique digitally encrypted signature along with a date and time stamp, with two copies stored in the IAP on redundant Smartcells, ensuring secure non-tamperable, storage, and availability of information. The IAP also supports as a standard feature legal hold or quarantine where search results of potentially relevant information can be placed on hold for an indefinite period of time to ensure preservation of information for compliance audits and litigation requests.

Fast time to value and ROI - The flexibility and scalability of the IAP are key to rapid deployment where each customer's specific needs and SLAs are determined and then a pre-configured archiving solution is factory built and shipped for fast integration on site. With the escalating costs in litigation and compliance, ROI in many cases can be seen in as little as a few days or weeks.

New Features introduced in HP IAP 2.0 (since HP IAP 1.6):

  • Universal Smartcells can now support 2.1TB capacity with RAID-6 ADG protection
  • Selectable "sent" or "archived" date/time stamp for more flexible retention management

Product Highlights

HP Integrated Archive Platform

HP IAP Base System

A7970E

IAP Technology HP Integrated Archive Platform (HP IAP) is a complete system that integrates all the hardware, software and services required for an active archiving solution for email and other common document types. The latest release of HP IAP expands beyond the large enterprise market into the Medium Enterprise and Global Enterprise deployments involving Remote Branch Offices (RBO) providing long term archival of reference information and provides a comprehensive suite of Information Retention and Archive Management capabilities.

Key features includes integrated, attribute and content based distributed indexing, search and retrieval in a tamper resistant, WORM enabled, storage environment , and retention management to ensure proper disposition of information to meet the compliance, regulatory, and legal requirements of business and government customers.

The HP IAP is a global enterprise archiving platform which is based on a unique and highly flexible, grid based architecture that supports a powerful, "multi-dimensional" scaling capability that can easily scale to hundreds of terabytes and 100,000+ users. HP IAP can be scaled with an array of performance and capacity options either individually or in parallel and can be custom configured or "tuned" to meet each individual customer's exacting needs and requirements today and into the future.

Full text search Full text index of archived content stored in HP IAP enables fast and accurate information search and retrieval.

Cost effective Selectively archiving emails and documents according to flexible policies can reduce the costs of managing enterprise environments and leverage HP IAP storage reduction capabilities

Fully HP integrated, tested, and supported All HP hardware, software, and services required for scalable information archival storage, distributed indexing and search, retention, management, and archive platform management platform are included. The HP IAP Base System includes storage, servers, switches, rack and management software. Additional applications such as the available HP EAs products or 3rd party ISV solutions are required to support the connectivity between the application and HP IAP.

Scalability Grid computing architecture, with it multi-dimensional scalability, ensures the highest levels of performance as the number of users or document traffic into HP IAP increases.

Secure Prevents tampering with archived data and provides proof of authenticity via data finger printing, time stamping and encryption methods. Data cannot be deleted from the archive until the end of the retention period.

Assists customers with meeting compliance requirements When combined with HP email archiving compliance software applications, such as HP EAs for Exchange and HP EAs for Domino, all emails sent or received in the customer environment are automatically migrated to HP IAP. Data stored in HP IAP is retention managed and tamper-resistant in alignment with SEC and regulatory rules and can be searched with proper credentials and litigation holds can be applied when required.

Efficient Identifies duplicate emails or documents and removes them from the archive.

Fault Tolerant All content is synchronously mirrored and optionally replicated to a remote IAP system.

Manageable HP IAP Platform Control Center (PCC) software is included to monitor status and administration of the IAP system.
