| ProLiant Cluster F200 for the Entry Level SAN |
The ProLiant Cluster F200 for the Entry Level SAN supports HP's industry-leading ProLiant servers, the MSA1500 cs or MSA1000. Ethernet server to server interconnect, and HP's industry-leading installation and systems management utilities. The ProLiant Cluster F200 for the Entry Level SAN delivers a high level of availability in clusters by enabling multi-path Fibre Channel connections. StorageWorks Secure Path management software by HP, included with the kit, features support for a redundant Fibre Channel infrastructure (two paths through the Fibre Channel hub, or fabric switch) utilizing dual Host Bus Adapters (HBAs) in each server connected to one or more MSA1000, MSA1500 cs storage subsystems, each with dual RAID controllers that creates a configuration with no single-point-of-failure. |

| HP StorageWorks MSA1500 cs | The HP StorageWorks Modular Smart Array 1500 cs is a Fibre Channel SAN attached 2U controller shelf that connects to Serial ATA (SATA) or SCSI disk enclosures. This combination provides customers with a low cost, high capacity storage solution. This solution has been designed as a hardware foundation for which future solutions can be designed and implemented for investment protection. The MSA1500 cs is perfect for those customers looking for less expensive storage solutions using HP SATA enclosures to store data that doesn't require a high degree of I/O performance and/or is viewed as non-critical to business operations. The MSA1500 cs with up-to-eight attached SATA enclosures can provide the customer with up to 24 TB (96 - 250GB SATA disk drives) of raw capacity. If the business needs SCSI reliability then attach up-to-four SCSI enclosures for a raw capacity of 8.1 TB (using 56 - 146 GB SCSI disks). Mixing of SATA and SCSI enclosures is now fully supported in a cluster configuration with the MSA1500. |

| HP StorageWorks MSA1000 |
The HP StorageWorks MSA1000 is a 2 Gb Fibre Channel storage system designed for the entry-level to mid-range Storage Area Network (SAN). Designed to reduce the complexity, expense and risk of SAN deployment, the MSA1000 is a scaleable, high performance storage system built with investment protection in mind. The modular design of the MSA1000 allows the user to easily add storage capacity on an as needed basis. The MSA1000 combines the array controller shelf and the drive shelf, which holds up to fourteen 1 universal disk drives in a single 4U rack mount cabinet. More storage can be easily deployed with the addition of up to two HP StorageWorks 4314 (max 42 drives) or one 4354 (max 28 drives) Enclosures for a maximum storage capacity of 6 TB when using the new 146 GB drives. The MSA1000 provides the latest 2 Gb Fibre Channel technology to the hosts. Besides the single port 2 Gb Fibre Channel I/O module that comes standard, there is an optional 8-port, 2 Gb Fibre Channel fabric switch that fits inside the MSA1000. Another optional I/O module is a 3-port 2 Gb Fibre Channel hub that also fits inside - an ideal low cost solution for simple 2-node clustering. The MSA1000 provides Ultra3 SCSI connections to the hard drives and uses the HP Universal 1 Ultra2, Ultra3, and Ultra320 drives. By utilizing existing SCSI drives, the MSA1000 lowers the total cost of ownership and extends the customer's hardware investments into the future. The MSA1000 can be remotely managed by using management tools such as HP Systems Insight Manager, Array Configuration Utility and the StorageWorks Fabric Switch Management Utility. Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition and Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server operating systems provide support for clusters. |

| OpenView Storage Mirroring |
HP OpenView Storage Mirroring (OVSM) offers a host-based application that performs remote copy over an IP LAN/WAN. The Storage Mirroring application operates on an industry standard server with Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 operating systems. Some Storage Mirroring key features are asynchronous replication that can be scheduled to a fine granular level--Logical Unit Number (LUN), file or byte level. Other features include multiple replication configuration options including peer-to-peer and many-to-one. In addition, Storage Mirroring is a very cost effective disaster recovery alternative from one host to another within a LAN or storage center or direct attached storage, between metro offices and regional centers. Additional configurations include replication from small office environments to enable low cost of entry for high return of business continuity. |
