| ProLiant Cluster Kit with OpenView Storage Mirroring |
|
The ProLiant Cluster Kit with OpenView Storage Mirroring is designed
to assist in simplifying the configuration of cluster solutions for customers
that require a cost effective disaster recovery alternative. This solution
provides high levels of data and applications availability in the Microsoft
Windows Operating System environment through clustering to provide no-single-point-of-failure.
The ProLiant Cluster Kit with OpenView Storage Mirroring supports two-node
clusters based on Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server and two to eight-node
clusters based on the Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition
operating system, StorageWorks Modular Smart Array 1500 cs (MSA1500 cs)
with MSA20 or MSA30 Attached or the StorageWorks Modular Storage Array
(MSA1000) and ProLiant servers. This solution also provides replication
capabilities to make one or more copies of the cluster data. Replication
can take place between a cluster and standalone configuration or between
two clusters.

| ProLiant Cluster Kit with OpenView Storage Mirroring |
ProLiant Cluster Kit with OpenView Storage Mirroring offers a host-based application that performs remote copy over an IP LAN/WAN. The Storage Mirroring application operates on a ProLiant server with Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server and Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition operating systems. Some Storage Mirroring key features are asynchronous replication that can be scheduled to a fine granular level--Logical Unit Number (LUN), file or byte level. Other features include multiple replication configuration options including peer-to-peer and many-to-one. Additional configurations include replication from small office environments to enable low cost of entry for high return of business continuity.
|
| NOTE: To help reduce the amount of bandwidth needed to transmit OVSM data, compression allows you to compress data prior to transmitting it across the network. In a WAN environment this provides optimal use of your network resources. If compression is enabled, the data is compressed before it is transmitted from the source. When the target receives the compressed data, it decompresses it and then writes it to disk. On a default OVSM installation, compression is disabled. | |
