HP ProLiant Lights-Out 100 |
| HP Lights-Out 100 Remote Management
provides entry level remote management functionality and basic system board
management capabilities at new price-performance levels. Lights-Out 100
Remote Management allows customers or their service providers to remotely
manage HP ProLiant 100 Series servers over a LAN or the Internet. HP Lights-Out 100 consists of an intelligent processor and firmware that provides cost-effective entry level lights-out functionality, basic system board management functions, and diagnostics. HP Lights-Out 100 is provided as optional mezzanine cards for the HP ProLiant ML 150 G2, HP ProLiant ML110 G2 and HP ProLiant ML110 G3 servers and the HP Lights-Out 100i is a standard, embedded management processor on the HP ProLiant DL145, HP ProLiant DL140 G2 and HP ProLiant DL145 G2 server. With each of these HP Lights-Out 100 products, users can access a system's text console, control system power, boot to a remote floppy drive and monitor system environmental conditions from a browser or command line. This basic "at-the-server" remote control means you stay in control of supported HP ProLiant 100 Series servers. |

Standard Features
| Virtual Text Remote Console | The HP Lights-Out 100 provides hardware remote console capabilities on a text mode screen. The operating system-independent console supports text modes that display remote host server activities including POST messages, BIOS setup screens and text-based operating system consoles. Supported operating system consoles include the Linux system and the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Emergency Services (EMS) console. |

| Virtual Power Button |
Using a supported browser interface or command line, HP Lights-Out 100 can be used to remotely operate the power button of a host. For example, if the host server is off, you can turn it on from HP Lights-Out 100. You can also power off and on the server in one step. |

Virtual Floppy |
The Virtual Floppy diskette feature allows an IT administrator to boot the remote server using a diskette image stored on a TFTP server on the network. The Virtual Media features save time and increase efficiency by eliminating the need to visit the remote server just to insert and use a diskette. (Supported on HP ProLiant ML110 G2/ML110 G3 and ML150 G2servers. Available as a technology preview on HP ProLiant DL140 G2 and HP ProLiant DL145 G2 servers). | ||

HP Lights-Out 100 is fully accessible by means of Microsoft® Internet Explorer 5.0 or 6.0 and Netscape 6.2 or later (Linux clients only). This capability allows easy access to the features of HP Lights-Out 100. |

| Command line interface | HP Lights-Out 100 is accessible using the pending industry standard command line, System Management Architecture for Server Hardware Command Line Protocol (SMASH CLP) Telnet, an SSH session or over a serial connection (HP ProLiant DL145, HP ProLiant DL140 G2 and HP ProLiant DL145 G2 only). Lights-Out 100 management processors can be configured, updated and operated using commands defined in a SMASH CLP draft specification from the Desktop Management Task Force (DMTF). |

| Environmental monitoring | HP Lights-Out 100 enables remote monitoring of system temperature, fans and voltage. |

| System Event Log | HP Lights-Out 100 provides browser and command line access to the System Event Log providing visibility to records of system resets, system power loss, BMC user logins, and unsuccessful login attempts |

| Security | HP Lights-Out 100 provides a secure remote management environment using industry standards, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Secure Shell (SSH), to prevent unauthorized access to LO100 and protect data communicated over networks. Certificate/key (SSH and SSL) and password (SSH only) based authentication are supported.. Supported as a technology preview on Lights-Out 100 and Lights-Out 100i remote management processors for HP ProLiant DL140 G2, HP ProLiant DL145 G2, HP ProLiant ML110 G2/ML110 G3 and HP ProLiant ML150 G2 servers. |

| Network connectivity | Users access the HP Lights-Out 100 via a shared system NIC on the HP ProLiant ML150 G2 and HP ProLiant ML110 G2 servers. Network access on the HP ProLiant DL145, DL140 G2 and DL145G2 Servers is provided via a shared system NIC or a dedicated NIC. |

| System Management Integration | HP Systems Insight Manager discovers HP Lights-Out 100 management processors and provides convenient links to launch it from a browser. This centralized access simplifies management in environments with large numbers of HP ProLiant 100 Series servers with Lights-Out 100 deployed at remote sites. |

| Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) | HP Lights-Out 100 supports IPMI 2.0 enabling centralized management via compliant management consoles. |
