Notebook Expansion Base

Using your notebook with the Notebook Expansion Base creates a wireless desktop experience with the mobile freedom of a notebook. Today's notebooks offer you all the features, performance, and familiarity of a desktop PC, plus the flexibility of being able to pick up and go whenever you want. And now, with the improved Notebook Expansion Base, you get the added benefits of adjustable display height and high-performance stereo speakers–a desktop experience with a clean, efficient, less-cluttered work environment; improved cable management; and wireless keyboard and optical mouse.

The Notebook Expansion Base eliminates the need to purchase a separate monitor, port replicator, external speakers, USB hub and a wireless keyboard and mouse kit. When purchased separately, these items can cost hundreds of dollars more than the expansion base. With one simple connection you have easy access to your peripherals, eliminate unsightly cables and reduce desktop clutter.

Enjoy the comfort and familiarity of a wireless keyboard and mouse which provides 7 quick launch buttons to automatically launch and control media programs directly from your keyboard. Caps lock, number lock and low/no battery indicator lights are now shown on the receiver directly out of the box with no additional software installation.

Elevate and/or adjust the notebook display for your personal eye-level comfort, eliminating the need for an external monitor, saving money and space. Quickly connect to several peripherals with the Expansion Cable Connector which provides access to three USB 2.0 ports, S-Video and Composite Out, S/PDIF (Sony/Phillips Digital Interface), microphone jack, I/R receiver/window, headphone-out, RJ-11/Modem support via cable pass-through, RJ-45/Ethernet, as well as improved cable management and more connectivity options for quick connections to a variety of peripherals, including HP printers, scanners, digital cameras, and external DVD-RW drives. Your notebook charges automatically when connected; just grab it and go. As an added bonus: premium, built-in Harman/Kardon speakers are included with the Notebook Expansion Base for a best-in-class multimedia experience. Attach an external microphone to record sounds and verbal commentary for memos or presentations.

The integrated IR window will allow you to use your notebook's remote control while your notebook is connected to the expansion base. The remote control is sold separately or included with some notebook models.
NOTE: IR will not work on the following notebooks that connect to the expansion base with the expansion port adapter: HP Compaq nx9100, nx9105 and nx9110 series notebooks.

The HP Wireless Keyboard and Mouse kit combines a cordless keyboard, cordless optical mouse, and USB wireless receiver in a single package. This stylish set delivers the convenience, comfort, and elegance of wireless keyboard and optical mouse operation to your HP notebook. It reduces the tangle and clutter associated with wired peripherals, regains valuable workspace, and places advanced functionality and ergonomic ease of operation at the user's fingertips. Convenient Internet and multimedia buttons, as well as special keys that support the Microsoft® Windows® operating system and applications let users get things done quickly.

With quiet, tactile membrane switch technology, the HP Wireless Keyboard and Mouse supplies a high level of comfort and stress-free responsiveness. The mouse has a convenient scroll wheel that accelerates Web and document navigation. The wheel also functions as a third button.

The keyboard and mouse do not require line-of-sight access to the receiver, so they work flawlessly even when blocked from the receiver by books and other objects.
