HP FireWire 800 IEEE-1394b PCI Card

This high speed serial interface enables fast data transfer from external peripherals such as external hard disks, or digital cameras and videos. Twice the transfer rate of IEEE-1394a cards, it features two external ports and one internal header.

IEEE-1394b is one of the fastest serial interface standards ever developed, which makes it great for use with high-speed or bandwidth-intensive multimedia peripherals such as digital video cameras, audio, streaming and graphics. The HP FireWire 800 IEEE-1394b PCI Card has twice the data transfer rate of IEEE-1394a cards and is backward compatible to allow your IEEE-1394a devices to operate under the IEEE-1394b bilingual port with the use of an adapter cable. High-speed peripherals can be connected externally, eliminating the need to install internal hardware making installation as simple as connecting the device to your workstation. The PCI card features two external IEEE-1394b bilingual ports located on the PCI card bracket and one internal port header located on the PCI card to connect to front panel 1394 port on HP Workstations. All a customer needs is an open PCI slot and the driver included on the CD with the PCI card, allows the card to function at 800 Mb/s.
