The Multifunction Small Enterprise solution based on industry-standard Compaq ProLiant server platform is a breakthrough, next-generation all-in-one network and security solution specifically designed for small and medium enterprises. It combines affordable, reliable ProLiant ML 300 series server hardware with the award-winning, easy-to-use SME Server
V5 with ServiceLink from Mitel Networks. Unlike the earlier generation of server appliances, the Multifunction Small Enterprise solution delivers simplicity without sacrificing openness or flexibility. Additionally, Compaq's family of ProLiant Servers offer the reliability and expandability needed to support growing businesses. Core functions include
email, firewall, web, file- and print-sharing, ftp, secure remote access and more. The open source, Linux-based server comes with a subscription to ServiceLink, an integrated suite of system-management services delivered from the Mitel Networks NOC providing enhanced security and reliability. ServiceLink services include virus protection, IPSEC VPNs,
guaranteed email delivery, 24x7 monitoring and DNS configuration.
The Multifunction Small Enterprise solution will be initially available through PC Connection (a DMR and leading Compaq partner) in North America beginning September 4th, 2001.
