HP Renewal Process
To compliment the SUSE Linux Subscriptions, the following Care Pack support offerings are available to provide customers with Software Technical Support. A full range of support services are available for this software bundle including basic support through mission critical services. View a complete description of services for Linux base solutions.

Customers who have purchased Linux subscriptions and support directly from HP, will automatically be notified 90-120 days prior to contract expiration to renew their services. Once the services have been renewed, the customer will be sent renewed entitlements to their SLES subscriptions, a letter confirming support has been renewed, and instructions for obtaining support.

Customers who have purchased Linux subscriptions and support via a channel partner should be approached by their channel partner to renew Linux subscriptions and support. However, If a customer would like to renew directly with HP, they may contact HP using contacts information provided below.

Your SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Operating System comes in a single Media kit that contains:
  • 1 DVD for each x86 & AMD64 and Intel64
  • 4 CD for each x86 & AMD64 and Intel64
  • 1 SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 manual guide
Subscription Card
You can purchase a subscription card with or without a media kit. The subscription card entitles you to access the Novell Customer Centre whereby you can download the SLES operating system.

You can purchase either a 1 or 3 year subscription.

This Protection Registration Card enables access to the product updates (Novell Customer Center). You must provide the codes listed on the card at the following web site: www.novell.com/reg

* HP & Novell gives customers the choice of either buying a SUSE subscription license for each blade server or buying a SUSE subscription license for the entire Blade Chassis.
  • If customer chooses to buy a SUSE license for each single blade then the regular server price sku applies since single blades are servers.
  • On the other hand, the SUSE Chassis subscription license is calculated by ((Max# blades per Chassis) x (regular server price) divided by 2. The Blade Chassis can run SLES on all the blade servers that the chassis can hold.
Therefore if a customer is populating more than 1/2 of the available chassis slots with SUSE blade servers, then the Blade Chassis license is the way to go. If the customer is only installing one or two SUSE blade servers and using the other chassis slots for other blades like Red Hat or Windows or any other kind of blade then the individual SUSE license for each server makes better sense.
