With HP Systems Insight Manager 5.0, HP has raised the bar yet again. In addition to providing consolidated management of ProLiant, Integrity, and HP 9000 systems, HP Systems Insight Manager now manages your enterprise storage.
Comprehensive management and control
HP SIM provides fault, asset, and configuration management for all of your HP systems, whether you're managing a mail and messaging solution on ProLiant servers running Windows, a transaction processing system on a Superdome system running HP-UX, or a high performance technical computing farm on Linux or Tru64 Unix. And if you use SANs today or plan to leverage SANs in the future, HP Systems Insight Manager and the Storage Essentials can handle all of your SAN management needs.
Why Upgrade to HP SIM 5.0 from HP SIM 4.x?
- HP Systems Insight Manager 5.0 now manages MSA, EVA, and XP SAN storage in addition to ProLiant, Integrity, and HP9000 servers.
- HP Systems Insight Manager 5.0 provides support for Storage and Integrity Essentials as well as ProLiant Essentials.
- HP Systems Insight Manager 5.0 delivers integration with Open Service Event Manager and Instant Support Enterprise Edition, allowing HP customers to take advantage of remote support services, events that provide spare parts information, and access to other tools provided by HP services.
- HP Systems Insight Manager 5.0 no longer relies on client-side Java which improves performance and eliminates irritating Java conflicts.

Upgrade now
It's easy to upgrade from any 4.x version of HP SIM to HP SIM 5.0. Insight Manager 7 and Servicecontrol Manager users must first upgrade to HP Systems Insight Manager 4.2 prior to upgrading to HP Systems Insight Manager 5.0

HP Systems Insight Manager 5.0 supports an in-place upgrade from any version of HP Systems Insight Manager 4.x. Certain ProLiant Essentials software modules may have to be upgraded separately.
Insight Manager 7 and Servicecontrol Manager users will have to upgrade to HP Systems Insight Manager 4.2 prior to upgrading to HP Systems Insight Manager 5.0.
