HP Insight Management Agents are now available for HP ProLiant 100 G6 Series Servers and are based on industry standard technology that enables the management of servers in enterprise, SMB, and Cloud Computing environments. SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) is an industry standard communication protocol for managing and monitoring network devices. Its purpose is to provide a small, common, and simple set of commands that allow network devices to be managed.
SNMP agent support has been supported on ProLiant 300 series and above for years. This capability allows SNMP based management of HP ProLiant 100-series servers via HP Systems Insight Manager (SIM) or other SNMP based tools.
Additionally, in-band management capabilities for 100-series servers have been added that are similar to those available for ProLiant 300 -series servers and above. Clients supported are:
