InternetWeek Magazine., September 11, 2000, reviews the Compaq ProLiant DL380 with Remote Insight Lights-Out Edition as a complete rack-mount solution. Within the article, the Remote Insight Lights-Out Edition receives "Best of Breed" recognition!
According to the publication, "Compaq's biggest management strength is the quality of the optional Remote Insight Lights-Out Edition, which contains its own integrated NIC, Intel i960 processor and video controller. Once the card is installed, all keyboard, video and mouse I/O goes through the card. So, even if the system is down, it can be managed locally or over the LAN. Using a Web browser, the ProLiant DL380 can even be run headless, using the Web interface as a fully function remote control. If hooked up to an external power supply and wired into the server's AC switch, the remote Insight Lights-Out Edition can also power the server up and down.
