Simplicity and ease of use

Simple server setup - get your server up and running quickly with Assisted Installation!

  • The Easy Set-up CD validates your hardware configuration prior to OS installation. Boot server from Easy Set-up CD
  • Follow the steps from the Wizard to validate your hardware configuration and prepare the server for the operating system (OS) installation
  • When prompted, insert the Operating System CD to complete the OS and device driver installation
  • You are done

Consistent manual installation

Server setup - get your server up and running with Manual Installation

  • Obtain your latest storage boot controller drivers either off of the web or from autorun on the Easy Set-up CD. (Access to another system is required for access to the Internet and autorun.) Then, boot your new ML110 G5 or ML115 G5 server with their Operating System CD
  • Configure the server and its other hardware and array controller(s) by using either the intelligent defaults or ORCA (Option-ROM Configuration for Arrays utility) or ACU (Array Configuration Utility) by booting the Easy Set-up CD
  • Configure the server through the OS installation process, you may be prompted for the storage drivers you obtained earlier. Walk through the questions to complete the OS installation
  • After the manual OS installation is complete, apply the latest drivers from the Easy Set-up CD by launching autorun from either Windows or Linux
  • You are done
