Support and services


HP offers a complete choice of services to ensure the success of your ProLiant Server deployment program. From professional consultative services to responsive telephone support services, the expertise of HP Services is available to support the implementation and operation of your SmartStart application.

  •  Warranty - HP will replace defective delivery media for a period of one year (12 months) following the date of purchase of your server.

  •  Startup technical software support - Available for no additional charge by calling HP Support up to 90 days from the date of purchase of your server. Phone support is available to assist customers with installation and set-up and standard usage questions. View Worldwide numbers for HP Support.

  •  Software Technical Support Services - provide easy access to experts for questions regarding use of the SmartStart after the 90-day period. This is also a way to secure extended coverage hours and committed response times (1 or 2 hours) from day one. These Care Paq offerings are available in easy to purchase and convenient to use 5, 10 and 25 incident packages. Visit CarePaq™ services for software for more information.


License support


The SmartStart licensee may obtain a complete machine-readable copy of the source code for software licensed under the terms of the SmartStart and Storage Software Support CD End-User License Agreements (EULA) for a fee to cover the cost of distribution. The EULA is launched when you boot the SmartStart CD or through the Autorun when inserting either CD onto a Linux or Windows-based system. Please read the terms of the EULA before requesting a copy of the source code. The source code is not needed to run SmartStart nor the Storage Software Support CD.
