"Rack and Go" unattended installation frees up scarce IT resources
Rack the server, provide power and network connection, insert the boot CD and go. By combining scripts for server configuration and operating system installation, IT administrators can rapidly configure a new server and install the operating system in a hands-off unattended manner.

Server deployment with virtual presence
The Remote Insight Technology and the SmartStart Scripting Toolkit are two key components of HP's management strategy to deliver "Virtual Presence" - providing control of your IT assets anywhere on the network. The Remote Insight and Integrated Lights Out Edition (RILOE/iLO) provide powerful remote access to your server. Using the "Virtual CD" feature, system administrators can remotely power on a new server, boot up the network boot CD image, run the server configuration scripts and launch the OS installation across the network, providing a new way to deploy new servers at remote locations without local IT staff.

The SmartStart Scripting Toolkit provides a flexible way to create standard server configuration scripts. These scripts are used to automate many of the manual steps in the server configuration process. This automated server configuration process cuts time from each server deployed, making it possible to scale server deployments to high volumes in rapid fashion.

Delivers consistent server configurations across multiple servers
The SmartStart Scripting Toolkit allows you to create standard server configuration scripts for similarly configured servers. Once you have a script developed from your model server, you can use this script to configure similar or like-servers across your data center. Because these scripts automate the manual steps in the server configuration process, this reduces the chances for errors during this process.
