Q1. What is the HP Insight Integration for CA Unicenter?
A1. The Insight Integration for CA Unicenter integrates HP hardware management and event notification into the Unicenter Enterprise platform. Through the versatility of the Insight Management Agents, it provides the most manageable platform for Unicenter across a wide range of popular operating environments, including Microsoft Windows 2000 / NT, Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Novell NetWare, Tru64 UNIX and OpenVMS.

For customers who use Unicenter as their preferred platform for systems fault and event information, this solution provides an efficient and effective method for managing ProLiant servers, clients and storage devices from within an existing Unicenter environment. HP systems are automatically discovered and graphically represented in the Unicenter Explorer and WorldView interfaces. Specific policy files used with the Unicenter Agent technologies allows HP hardware subsystems to be directly monitored, and their status viewed through the native Unicenter Node View, Agent View, and through Explorer and WorldView. For improved management of system events, the integration also includes the instrumentation and translation of Insight SNMP events through the Unicenter Enterprise Console.

Further access to detailed HP systems data is provided via in-context application launches to Systems Insight Manager, the HP System Management Homepage and HP Integrated Lights-Out management processors.

A5. The Insight Integration for CA Unicenter, revision 3.4, supports Insight Management Agents v5.0 or higher on server and client platforms.

Revision 3.4 of the Insight integration includes support for Insight Management Agents up to v7.90.

A6. The following browser solutions are recommended as a minimum:
