» Key Benefits

The HP NC325m features four Gigabit Ethernet ports on a single card, saving valuable server I/O slots for other purposes. The four ports provide the highest port density available for ProLiant BladeSystem servers in a single adapter. The NC325m is ideal for virtualization, security, server consolidation, network segmentation, and other ProLiant server applications requiring maximum throughput and port density. The total aggregate throughput of 4Gbps meets the needs for customers desiring high bandwidth but are not yet ready to move to 10 Gigabit Ethernet.

The x4 PCI Express NC325m is supported on all ProLiant c-Class servers in all mezzanine slots. However, if the NC325m is installed in mezzanine slot 1 of a half-height server blade, it will provide connectivity on only 2 of the 4 ports.

What's new

Four (4) Gigabit Ethernet ports on a type 1 mezzanine card for high density LAN connectivity in HP c-Class BladeSystem servers.

Ideal environment

Ideal for...

VMware and other network I/O intensive applications

  • Best practices for VMware recommend a minimum of three network adapter ports, although failover, dynamic workload balancing, network segmentation and bandwidth needs often require six or more.

Network segmentation and server consolidation

  • Multiple network ports permits segmenting network traffic to multiple switches to help IT organizations support unpredictable network demands and improve network data security and reliability.
  • Consolidating workloads and applications into fewer and fewer servers often necessitates the need for increased network adapter bandwidth and physical ports.

Increased bandwidth needs

  • For customers requiring added bandwidth, but are not ready to move to 10 Gigabit Ethernet, the four gigabit ports offer the greatest port throughput for a ProLiant c-Class Gigabit Ethernet mezzanine adapter.
