Overview

The NC512m is a dual port 10 Gigabit Ethernet network server adapter for the c-Class BladeSystem. It offers the highest bandwidth available in a ProLiant Ethernet c-Class adapter. This high-performance, Multifunction server adapter that includes support for stateful TCP offloading, often called TCP/IP offload engine (TOE). The NC512m adapter is supported on all ProLiant c-Class servers in mezzanine slot 2 or 3 (full height servers) and slot 2 (half height servers) providing up to thirty-two (32) 10 Gigabit Ethernet adapter ports per c7000 enclosure and sixteen (16) per c3000 enclosure.

What's new

First 10 Gigabit Ethernet network adapter option for ProLiant c-Class servers.
  • Dual-port design providing up to 40 Gb/s bandwidth full duplex.
  • Up to thirty-two 10 Gigabit Ethernet adapter ports per c7000 enclosure and sixteen per c3000 enclosure.

Ideal environment

Ideal for...

Customers requiring high performance Ethernet networking
  • Customers in a broad range of advanced computing environments are working with ever more complex data sets requiring 10Gb bandwidth including high performance computing (HPC), database clusters, iSCSI, and storage backups, grid systems and virtualization, server, I/O, & fabric consolidation, and VoIP and VOD.

Resource-constrained customers wanting greater server efficiencies
  • With Linux Socket Acceleration (LSA), the NC512m reduces the CPU cycles required to process network traffic in Linux environments.
  • 10,0000 Mbps bandwidth facilitates consolidation of workloads and applications into fewer and fewer servers.
  • Unified fabrics simplify networking infrastructures and can greatly reduce costs associated with purchasing and managing IT resources.
