• Conveniently supports application suites, such as Microsoft Windows Essential Business Server 2008 and Oracle E-Business Suite, in an integrated package, with multiple compute/storage configurations to meet varying application requirements
• DL4x170h G6 models with 4 dual processor servers in a 2U multi node chassis
• DL2x170h G6 models with 2 dual processor servers and enhanced I/O capabilities in a 2U multi node chassis
• Common ProLiant components, tools and management
• 4-in-1 efficiency over traditional servers:
• Unified infrastructure lets you manage 4 servers for the effort of 1
• 9% performance per watt improvement over competitive rack servers
• 30% improved power efficiency over competitive rack servers
• Over 80% reduction in thermal components and 50% reduction in power supplies
• Double the density of traditional rack servers in an industry standard design:
• Industry-leading density - a single 2U system that delivers 4 servers, 8 CPUs, 16 drives, 32 cores and 64 DIMMs (672 cores and 10TB of memory in a 42U rack)
• The highest dual processor server DIMM density in the industry, with 64 DIMMs and a maximum of 1TB of memory in 2U

In addition, the G6 portfolio also introduces the first servers based on Six-Core AMD Opteron ™ Processors. With the introduction of this next generation of AMD servers, HP is taking advantage of the unique capabilities of these new six-core processors. Key innovations in these new servers include:

• 50% more cores which gives the ability to handle bigger workloads while offering better performance
• CoreSelect™ which allows the user to configure the number of usable cores at startup to reduce licensing costs and modify processor performance
• HT Assist which increases performance by optimizing processor traffic providing the shortest path to data that they need

• 21% reduction in processor power consumption with SmartFetch™ technology
• Full HP Dynamic Power Capping support with AMD PowerNow!
• Virtualization:
• #1 in virtualization performance with AMD 12core (2 socket) and 24core (4 socket)
• Live Migration which migrates OSs from servers as old as first generation AMD technologies to new virtual machines
