Sentara Health
Between the improved processing capabilities and increase of memory, my business continues to gain improvements when leveraging HP ProLiant technology featuring quad-core processors. I continue to implement virtualization technology to help consolidate older, slower servers onto the HP BladeSystem c-Class infrastructure, saving me expensive floor space and lowering the cost of IT.

The new MP servers from HP can be leveraged to continue to foster new innovative designs for our business. With double the processing capabilities and the memory footprint increase, we continue to review business applications with an objective of becoming more reliably in the smaller, blade-based footprint of the BladeSystem c-Class products. At a glance I get more computing power in the ProLiant BL680c while maintaining nominal changes within the infrastructure, to include but not limited to, power and floor space.

- Joe Rowell, Manager Enterprise Architect Solutions

Whirlpool Corporation
"As a business unit within Whirlpool, GIS was looking to minimize our Virtual Machine overhead by 50% and reduce the datacenter footprint by consolidating our current physical servers. Implementing HP BladeSystem infrastructure and Intel based technology will enable us to achieve these goals. With the quality, reliability and density of HP BladeSystem technology in the HP ProLiant BL680c and the new high performance Quad-Core Intel® Xeon processor 7300-series, we will reduce costs and increase server utilization. Total Cost of Ownership is greatly reduced using this solution, giving Whirlpool a great competitive advantage. Based on our current evaluation, the HP ProLiant BL680c with the Quad-Core Intel® Xeon processor 7300-series will be the GIS organization's standard platform."

- Gary O. Coburn, Senior Virtualization Engineer

"The testing we have completed with the BL680 has been very beneficial and exciting. The c-Class Blade System has once again showed it's flexibility by allowing us to use the same chassis and now run the full height blades as opposed to the half height 460c. In addition to the quad socket design, the Quad-Core Intel® Xeon processor 7300-series have proven to be as reliable as we have come to expect. While drastically reducing the footprint in our data centers we will be able to utilize the power of both the BL680 and the new Quad-Core Intel® Xeon processor 7300-series to continue running our server environment at the level our Business has come to expect."

- Ryan E. Klaer, Lead Virtualization Engineer

Swedish Medical
"Evaluation of the new HP BladeSystem BL680c G5 with the Quad-Core Intel® Xeon 7300 processors proves to be excellent replacements for the older multiprocessor/multi-server database and Linux servers here at Swedish Medical. With the processing power of a 4-processor Quad-Core server with 64 GB of memory in one blade, Swedish Medical will be able to achieve its IT goals of hosting VMware based servers to increase our server consolidation while reducing the overall data center footprint. In addition to the processing capabilities, the BL680c G5 uses the same HP management software, Systems Insight Manager, as the other c-Class blades. This enables us to leverage our current blade chassis and systems' management knowledge to quickly install this new blade into our infrastructure and manage it. Swedish Medical Center is looking forward to adding the BL680c G5 and the Quad-Core Intel® Xeon 7300 processors to our HP BladeSystem lineup."

- Mike Criss, Manager of Infrastructure Engineering
