Q...... Can existing 200 MHz or 180 MHz ProLiant 2500 servers be upgraded using the new 200 MHz, 512KB Pentium Pro processor option kit?
A...... Yes, existing ProLiant 2500 systems based on the 200 MHz/256KB version of the Pentium Pro can be upgraded to dual processing using the new 200 MHz/512KB Pentium Pro as the second processor. 180 MHz ProLiant 2500 servers can also use the new 200 MHz/512KB Pentium Pro processor, but customers should note that when mixing processor speeds (180 and 200) that the server will default to the slower speed processor (180).

Q...... What is the Integrated Management Display?
A...... Compaq offers the Integrated Management Display (IMD) as a standard feature on the ProLiant 2500 6/200 512K models. The Integrated Management Display provides information for diagnosing and servicing your ProLiant server. In the case of a system shutdown the IMD will display a POST error message providing information about the cause of the failure. The IMD features a 16 x 4 character LCD display and 4 button display control panel. The LCD module displays POST messages, user-defined administrative information, and system information.

Q...... What POST message events are logged with the Integrated Management Display?
A...... All POST message events as described in the Systems Reference Library (CD included in the documentation set with the server) are displayed. To access POST Error Messages, open the Systems Reference Library CD, select Diagnostic Tools, and then select POST Error Messages.

Q...... How will future software upgrades for the Integrated Management Display be obtained?
A...... Future software upgrades to the Integrated Management Display will be available through http://www.compaq.com. The customer will need to update the system ROM on the ProLiant 2500, using the latest Systems ROMPaq utility for ProLiant 2500 at www.compaq.com/support/files/rompaq.html.

In addition, the customer will need to update his or her Compaq Operating System-dependent drivers. New drivers are available on the Compaq Support Software CD or via www.compaq.com/support/files/server/index.html.
