The ProLiant DL585, the best performing x86 4-processor server in the industry, now supports the new Dual-Core AMD Opteron processors further increasing the performance leadership of this system. Dual-Core AMD Opteron processors enable a huge boost in performance. Depending on the application and environment, customers can expect to see anywhere from 15 to 65% performance improvement in the same 4U chassis!

The DL585 was the first Tier 1 server in the industry supporting 4 AMD Opteron processors and the first platform which demonstrated Dual-Core AMD Opteron processors in August 2004. It continues to maintain performance leadership, especially with a variety of 32-bit benchmarks. The 128GB memory footprint enables most applications to run faster or support more users than other systems. The DL585 combines AMD Opteron processor technology, best-in-class management and outstanding uptime features in an enterprise-class system ideal for large data center deployments.

What's new

The 4-processor HP ProLiant DL585 now supports Dual-Core AMD Opteron processor, Model 880 2.4GHz and Single-Core AMD Opteron processor Model 854 2.85GHz, 1GHz HyperTransport™, and PC2700 and PC3200 memory, producing a server ideal for space constrained customers looking for leading performance and management in a rack-optimized form factor.

  • 1GHz HyperTransport™ technology delivering 8GB/sec CPU to CPU throughput for maximum performance and scalability
  • Up to 128GB of PC2700 running at 266MHz, 48 GB of PC2700 running at 333MHz, or 32GB of PC3200 running at 400MHz
  • 8 PCI-X expansion slots, a dual-port Gbit NIC and Smart Array 5i Plus controller with Battery-backed Write Cache enabler
