Overview

Crowded data centers and racks filled to capacity with storage devices, monitors, servers communications devices, and other equipment are driving the need for uninterruptible power with increased power density and power efficiency. The HP 3 Phase Uninterruptible Power Systems provide just that. These rack-mountable Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS) provide up to 12,000 watts (W) of power in a 6U rack form factor. This equates to 2 KW per U space, which leads the industry in power density*. The UPS R8000/3 and the R12000/3 use digital signal processing and a new On-line On Demand hybrid technology to answer the demands for increased power density and power efficiency.

On-line On Demand combines the efficiency of a line interactive UPS, up to 97%, with the stability of a double conversion on-line UPS when power fluctuates beyond acceptable limits. Hot swappable batteries and electronics modules and an automatic bypass reduce down time in the event service is needed.

What's new

The new HP R8000/3 and R12000/3 Uninterruptible Power Systems are designed to high power output with industry leading efficiency for mission-critical enterprise solutions and rack data centers.

Performance
  • Unity power factor means 12000VA equals 12000 watts output.
  • Industry leading 97% efficiency, even at low a 40% load.
Management
  • The UPS Management Module is included. This eliminates the need for a dedicated management server and provided addition capabilities such as out of band communication and UPS clustering.
Options
  • Up to four 3U Extended Runtime Modules can be attached to the UPS for maximum runtime in the event of a power failure.

Ideal environment

The new HP R8000/3 and R12000/3 Uninterruptible Power Systems are designed to high power output with industry leading efficiency for mission-critical enterprise solutions and rack data centers.

Large data centers
  • Unity power factor means 12000VA equals 12000 watts output.
  • Industry leading 97% efficiency, even at low a 40% load.
Small to mid size data centers
  • The HP 3 Phase UPS provides power protection for an entire racks of servers, storage, and communications equipment with unparalleled efficiency. Hot swappable electronics and batteries reduce downtime.
Co-location facilities
  • The HP 3 Phase UPS can provide power protection to one or more racks and can be managed by the administrators separately from the collocation facilities.
