Inside The Compaq Third Party Rail KitProvides compatibility of the Compaq 9000 Series Rack amongst equipment from multiple vendors in the same rack. - Data centers are becoming more heterogeneous environments where compatibility with Compaq racks and third party equipment is mandatory. This third party rail kit facilitates equipment installation and helps establish the 9000 series rack as that infrastructure of choice for datacenters. Mounts third party equipment without interference with zero-U mounted PDUs or other 9000 series rack options - Some of the 9000 series rack options can be mounted in a zero-U configuration in order to maximize the U space within the rack. It is important that rails, shelving and other equipment not interfere with already installed equipment. This third party rail kit easily installs in the rack Saves customers a "U" - Sun recommends using a SharkRack kit in order to mount the Sun kit within the rack. However, this kit is very costly and does not make efficient use of the rack space. In high-density environments, every U counts so Compaq has developed the third party kit to mount the Sun Ultra 2, 5 and 10 products in the 9000 series rack. |
