HP is introducing the next generation of solid state drives for ProLiant
servers. These solid state drives are 3Gb/second SATA interface
in both 60GB and 120GB capacities. The product, based on NAND Single Level Cell flash technology
are as SFF and LFF hot plug devices on the HP universal drive carrier for general use across the ProLiant portfolio. These drives deliver higher performance, lower latency and low power solutions when compared with tradtional rotating media and fit seamlessly into the existing HP server infrastructure
.
What's new
Introducing the next generation of solid state drives in 60GB and 120GB capacities with 3.0G SATA hot plug interface. These products offer high performance, low latency solutions in a midline class drive environment.
Hot plug SFF and LFF Solid State drives available in larger capacities for ProLiant ML/DL and BL servers
More than just a boot device, these drives provide higher performance random reads and random writes than traditional rotating media drives
Same low power solutions as previous generation SSD's but with higher performance , lower latency
Ideal environment
Ideal for...
Solid state drives are ideal for midline drive environments with highly random, low write data workloads
High Performance, low latency and low power solid state drives offer solutions for servers that typically over provision capacity to get better performance (spindle count)
Get 3X the performance of 15K SAS drives with 1/3 the number of drives
Lower TCO by reducing cooling costs and footprint
Surprise power loss protection features
Solid state drives are ideal as high performance environments such as transactional applications, web service providers. Workload mixes of 70% reads and 30% writes in database applications
Solid state drives offer high performance low latency solutions for midline enterprise environments
Random reads of up to 70X greater than SAS 15Kdrives
Random writes of up to 20X greater than SAS 15K drives
