| HP XP Auto Path Software provides path failover, failback, and automatic load balancing. Together, these features provide higher data availability and accessibility for IBM AIX storage network environments. If one path fails, the path failover feature in the software automatically switches the I/O to an alternate path, and your data remains available for access. XP Auto Path software also helps maintain outstanding system performance by balancing workloads across available paths.
XP Auto Path supports all HP XP Disk Arrays and the equivalent Hitachi storage systems. It enables easy management of paths through browser based connection to the server. It distributes the load across multiple paths to prevent a heavily loaded path from affecting processing speed. With its path failover capability, XP Auto Path switches to an alternate path if a failure occurs on the active path, allowing processing to continue without interruption. When a failed path is repaired, XP Auto Path will bring it back online to increase the number of paths available for load balancing and failover. XP Auto Path monitors path health by automatically checking the path status at regular intervals specified by the user, eliminating the need to repeatedly perform manual path status checks. XP Auto Path can be operated remotely by linking with HP XP Command View Advanced Edition Software.
