HP StorageWorks XP Continuous Access Software provides real-time array-to-array data replication for HP StorageWorks XP Disk Arrays. This software is part of HP’s comprehensive suite of business continuity and availability solutions that enable you to maintain constant access to your data, even if access to a site is lost. HP XP Continuous Access Software products are integrated with server clustering software solutions to provide the highest levels of availability and disaster tolerance. To protect your business from disasters of any size, whether local or wide-area, you can create 3 Data Center disaster recovery solutions, with one data center located a continent away. And if you simply need to move data from one location to another, or from one generation of HP XP Disk Array to another, HP XP Continuous Access Software provides a reliable high-performance data migration solution.
The HP StorageWorks XP Continuous Access Software family includes synchronous, asynchronous, and journal remote replication products. Synchronous replication is the ideal remote replication product when the sites are not widely separated, and is especially valuable when an application is so critical that your business cannot afford the loss of any transactions. Asynchronous replication is preferred when high-performance replication over long distances is more important than having continuously synchronized data. HP provides two versions of asynchronous remote replication – HP XP Continuous Access Asynchronous with a traditional cache-based sidefile, and HP XP Continuous Access Journal with a disk-based sidefile. With the disk-based sidefile, HP XP Continuous Access Journal allows the link between sites to be sized for the average I/O rate rather than for the peak, and it can accommodate longer link failures than cache-based implementations, saving you money on monthly telecommunication costs.
What's new
HP StorageWorks XP Continuous Access Software is now available for the HP StorageWorks XP20000 Disk Array.
Features and Benefits
Business Continuity: Maintain operations in times of crisis by keeping on line copies of your critical data at alternate data centers.
Tight integration with clustering software solutions: Coordinate server cluster node failover/ failback with storage failover/ failback so that your applications can continue without disruption in the event of a failure.
3 Data Center solutions: Protect your business from both local and wide-area disasters, by using HP StorageWorks XP Continuous Access Journal in combination with HP StorageWorks XP Continuous Access Synchronous to provide two simultaneous copies of the same source data, and create a three-data-center disaster recovery solution.
Data migration: Simplify data center moves and storage system upgrades by using HP XP Continuous Access Software to migrate data between sites and between HP StorageWorks XP Disk Array families. Combine HP XP Continuous Access Software with HP StorageWorks XP External Storage to migrate data between a variety of dissimilar arrays.
Robust and cost-effective remote replication: Save money on monthly telecommunication costs with HP StorageWorks XP Continuous Access Journal. Because it uses a high-capacity disk-based sidefile, HP XP Continuous Access Journal allows you to size telecommunication links closer to the average I/O rate, and you can tolerate longer link outages.
Choice of remote replication methods: Choose the remote replication technology that meets your performance, telecommunication link, and data currency requirements. You can choose between HP StorageWorks XP Continuous Access Synchronous, HP StorageWorks XP Continuous Access Asynchronous, and HP StorageWorks XP Continuous Access Journal.
Open system and mainframe support: You can use array-based replication in your mainframe environment. Mainframe versions of the remote replication products are bundled in with the open systems titles.
