Last night in Denver at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference, PolyServe was named the Microsoft Partner Program Advanced Infrastructure Solutions, Storage Solutions Partner of the Year! This award honors partners that have storage infrastructure practices in designing and/or implementing various storage solutions to solve customers’ issues with data growth in their Windows environments.
This award was the result of a number of elements including the HP EFS Clustered Gateway based on the PolyServe File Serving Utility software. The HP NAS/PolyServe team worked directly with Microsoft and the NT File System team to develop a cluster file system that allowed a native Windows solution to compete more effectively with proprietary (non-Windows based) Network Attached Storage (NAS) solutions. Today, HP StorageWorks continues to leverage the PolyServe technology in the HP Enterprise File Services (EFS) Clustered Gateway as well as the EVA File Services product -- both can help customers consolidate Windows file servers, reducing the total cost of ownership of enterprise file servers and storage while significantly improving performance.
Expertise and skill in recommending, designing, and deploying the solution for customers such as Petro/Star Gas was also key to the win. Through Petro’s existing relationship with HP, the company became aware of PolyServe’s Matrix Server for Windows shared data cluster software and PolyServe’s strong partnership with HP. HP NAS/PolyServe worked with Petro/Star Gas to implement a scalable file serving backend that improved performance of information workers using Citrix MetaFrame Servers. In Matrix Server, Petro saw how all their objectives could be met immediately, and in the future. The resulting case study, which described how Petro/Star Gas achieved 300% performance improvement, was an important element in Microsofts decision. (http://www.polyserve.com/pdf/Petro_CaseStudy.pdf)
But there's more excitement in store! It was an excellent night for HP as we were also named Microsoft's Enterprise Alliance Partner of the Year making it a 2-for-2 win that recognizes HP's standing within and contribution to Microsoft's success! Awards were presented in a number of categories, with winners chosen from a pool of more than 1,800 entrants worldwide.
