	HP AIT storage media are ideal for departmental and workgroup backups where capacity, performance and cost are critical. HP AIT offers capacities from 70 GB to 200 GB with built in MIC technology giving faster file access and higher reliability.

	Does HP offer a full range of AIT data cartridges and cleaning cartridges? Yes. HP has now added AIT-1, AIT-2, AIT-3 and AIT cleaning cartridges to it's vast storage media portfolio.

	Do I need to use cleaning cartridges since AIT drives have self cleaning heads? Yes. While AIT drives are known for their self cleaning heads, to avoid excessive debris build up and to prolong the life of your drives, hp recommends using the Q1996A hp AIT cleaning cartridge when directed by your drive cleaning light indicator.

	I currently purchase Compaq AIT media. Is the HP brand fully compatible? Yes. Like all HP storage media, AIT is 100% compatible with all Compaq and other leading manufacturer's AIT drives.

	Is the Compaq brand of AIT data cartridges still available? For a short period of time, the Compaq brand will still be available. HP is encouraging all AIT users to transition to the hp AIT family of products as quickly as possible.

	Are AIT data cartridges compatible with Mammoth technology drives? No. Mammoth and AIT are independent technologies. While AIT and Mammoth share similar technologies and design, they are not compatible and should be considered proprietary. Mammoth drives will not work with AIT media and vise-a-versa. AIT cartridges will be rejected as will Mammoth cartridges be rejected from AIT drives.
