| A4. |
The HP RDX Removable Disk Cartridge is designed to sustain data transfers of up to 30 MB/s which translate up to 108 GB/hr. What is the capacity of the HP RDX Removable Disk Cartridge? |
| A5. |
The HP RDX Removable Disk Cartridge is available in a choice of 160 GB, 320 GB and 500 GB native capacity cartridges. | Q6. |
How easy to use is the HP RDX Removable Disk Cartridge? |
| A6. |
Backing up is a simple matter of inserting the HP RDX Removable Disk Cartridge into an RDX docking station. The cartridge will automatically show up as a letter drive in Windows Explorer with no extra formatting or extra steps. You then select the files that need to be protected and drag (or copy and paste) them into the removable drive folder. To restore files, just reverse the process. For more advanced automated backup, simple scheduled or continuous data protection can be performed through support for HP RDX Continuous Data Protection Software (provided with the purchase of an HP RDX Removable Disk Backup System) or with standard ISV software applications. |

| Q9. |
Is the HP RDX Removable Disk Cartridge just another USB drive? |
| A9. |
No. The HP RDX Removable Disk Backup Cartridge has essentially limitless capacity due to the fact that it is removable media. USB tabletop disk drives, while cheap, provide limited capacities, limited removeability, limited robustness and limited usability. |
 |
| Q10. |
How do the HP RDX Removable Disk Cartridges and HP Tape Cartridges customer usage and pricing models differ? |
| A10. |
A key positioning differentiator between HP RDX Removable Disk Cartridges and HP Tape Cartridges is the backup rotation and archiving usage model of the two products. The typical data protection usage model for HP RDX customers will be a simple two to four cartridge on site/off site backup rotation with end of year archiving, disaster recovery and data transfer from home to office or office to client. HP RDX Removable Disk Cartridges offer a lower cost solution than HP Tape Cartridges for this usage model. However if a customer requires more than 4 or 5 RDX Cartridges and high volume durable archiving, the economics of HP Tape Media versus HP RDX Removable Disk Cartridges mean that HP Tape becomes the more economical choice. Customers currently using HP Tape may also want to continue doing so to protect their HP Tape Media investment. |

| Q11. |
How reliable is the HP RDX Removable Disk Cartridge? |
| A11. |
The HP StorageWorks RDX Removable Disk Backup System & Cartridge are designed for reliability. In the HP RDX Removable Disk Cartridge, the heads and media operate in a sealed environment with no contact between the two. With no moving parts required for data operation in the drive and no contact of the media in the cartridge, reliability is very high. For example, HP RDX Removable Disk Cartridges are specified for 5,000 load and unload cycles - which can translate to over 13 years of daily use. For small business users who require longer archival periods in order to meet regulatory requirements, DAT tape is warranted for a longer period of 20 years and may be a more effective solution. |
