Environment:
Proliant ML G3 Models
ProLiant DL G3 Models
Gigabit NIC
Network counter installed
Works fine using smartstart 5.5 on generation 1 servers
Deinstall and reinstall network monitor does not help
Installing latest agents does not help
Upgrading to Microsoft sp3 does not help
Problem Description:
No network interface in performance monitor
Error : "Source : Perflib"
Event ID 1010
"The Collect procedure for the "tcpip" service in DLL "C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\PERFCTRS.DLL" generated an exception or returned an invalid status. Performance data returned by counter DLL will not be returned in perf data block."
Event ID 1017
Performance counter data collection has been disabled
Solution:
Download and install exctrlst.exe from Resource kit from Microsoft web site. Mark tcpip and reboot the server See MS Knowledge base art 158874 or 152513 for background information.
