Overview

This class will focus on BladeSystem solutions and how these solutions address real problems that customers are facing today. In addition to in depth technical training on the key technologies that enable these solutions, this class provides hands-on labs, sizing and configuration exercises, and solution demonstrations. Assists in preparation for the Accredited Integration Specialist (AIS) HP BladeSystem certification exam.

Objectives

After completing this course, you should be able to:
  • Setup HP BladeSystem Enclosure
  • Use HP BladeSystem Insight Display
  • Use HP BladeSystem Onboard Administrator First-Time Setup Wizard
  • Complete HP BladeSystem Port Mapping
  • Use HP VC Manager
  • Use the HP ProLiant BladeSystem Sizer
  • Configure the HP GbE2c Ethernet Blade Switch for BladeSystem
  • Install the Cisco Catalyst Switch 3020 and Assigning an IP Address
  • Install the Brocade 4Gb SAN Switch for HP c-Class BladeSystem
  • Install Insight Control Data Center Edition
  • Access and Configure iLO 2
  • Deploy Windows Server 2003 using RDP Windows Edition 3.0
  • Boot Windows Server 2003 from SAN
  • Deploy Red Hat Enterprise Linux Using RDP Windows Edition 3.0
  • Install and Use HP SIM 5.0 with SP5

Before attending this course, you must complete the web-based training:

  • ProLiant Server Basics, course 209, is required preparation in server technology (Select the ProLiant Technology Basics for Service Professionals profile)
  • HP ProLiant Family, course 205, is required preparation in the ProLiant family products. (Select the Services profile)
  • Service Fundamentals, course 37948 (downloadable text-based course - 00040176)

  • Plus one of the following operating system certifications:
    • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) certification
    • Red Hat Certified Technician (RHCT) certification
