The dot.commonwealth Partnership

Compaq has agreed to enter into a partnership with The dot.commonwealth, a coalition of industry, government, and high-tech organizations committed to attracting and retaining high-tech companies to the state of Massachusetts. The goal of The dot.commonwealth is to promote Massachusetts as a "hotbed" of technology, a state with the resources and the prestige needed for continuous innovation.

With the partnership, Compaq will be sponsoring several dot.commonwealth road shows in Massachusetts. The objective of these road shows will be to promote the role the state plays in the new information economy and the "dot-com" world. This program is essentially a "whistle stop" public relations tour to

• Help raise visibility for technology and innovation initiatives
• Provide leaders an opportunity to meet other dot.commonwealth industry leaders
• "Connect the Dots" in The dot.commonwealth - that is, connect various businesses in Massachusetts that are part of the economic development and high technology industry innovation

As a major New England employer, as well as a leader in e-commerce technology and solutions, Compaq is playing a key role in this initiative. The road show series will kick off May 12 on Cape Cod at the Sheraton Hotel in Hyannis.
